When we wanted to pick up the rental car at Alicante airport on we were told that it would not have been wise for us to take out insurance with the car rental. They required a pin code from our credit card. However, we didn't have any. We were not allowed to pay the amount in cash, not even with our payment account, no, without the pin code of our credit card we were not allowed to take a car with us!
We requested a new pin code through the credit card company, which we would receive 3 days later. When we indicated at the counter that we wanted to pick up the car 3 days later with the new pin code, we were informed that the reservation would expire after 48 hours!!!
We have made several telephone calls and have also been contacted by Cartrawler. We were informed by telephone that we could no longer cancel the reservation because it had 'already started!'
We tried to get in touch via the website, but only got a blank page.
We have found this experience with cartrawler to be very bad. No customer-friendliness, no solution and no transport. Canceling was not possible because the reservation had already 'started', but the car could not be picked up after 48 hours because our reservation (which had already started) had suddenly expired!!???!?
Too outrageous for words!! Never rent a car through cartrawler again!!
