Booked and paid via rentalcar.com (also not very impressed with) but had to pay an additional 145 euro on a insurance at the desk to even get the car, because the only credit card we had was in the name of the drivers wife. The car was in a pity state, side window popping out of the frame, warning light on the dashboard on all the time and a loose backseat.
Within a hour in the middle of nowhere we had a flat tyre, rang their road service but they were not bothered.
Spare tyre and jack in the boot but no locking wheel nut key. Replaced with the help of some friendly Maltese.
total costs 370 euro for a 6 day rental. a whopping 61 euro a day
